In a bid to reignite the capability of the Niger Delta and increase the possibility of food security, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority (NDBDA), paid a courtesy visit to a private sector giant, Mr. Kidron Israel, the esteemed head of Onida Agri & Aquaculture Solutions. The visit, held at Onida's headquarters in Abuja, aimed to explore new avenues for agricultural development and strengthen ties between the two organizations.

Amgbare stated "we're enthusiastic to learn and adopt new and improved agricultural technologies, particularly those pioneered in Israel. Our indigenous Peremabiri rice farm can easily cater for the rice needs of the Niger Delta, but with these improvements we can conquer Nigeria and other neighbouring countries". He emphasized that despite the challenging terrain of the Niger Delta, there is a strong commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity through innovative solutions. His visit underscored NDBDA's dedication to fostering agricultural advancement and leveraging global expertise.

Mr. Kidron Israel, in his address, lamented the paradox of Nigeria's vast natural and abundant resources yet low agricultural productivity. He pointed out that Nigeria's potential remains largely untapped due to inadequate adoption of modern agricultural techniques. Mr. Kidron expressed his eagerness to collaborate with NDBDA, highlighting that such a partnership could significantly enhance Nigeria's agricultural output.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the potential benefits of their collaboration. Both parties believe that a strategic partnership would not only improve local agricultural productivity but also position Nigeria as a major exporter of agricultural produce. They envision a future where advanced agricultural technologies and practices are seamlessly integrated into Nigeria's farming landscape, thereby unlocking the country's full agricultural potential.
